Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the passing of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans had expressed its support for the fighter in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
