Each are being considered with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's departure on the start of the week.

McKenna's Stance on Celtic

McKenna described Celtic as "a really big soccer institution" but emphasized he is "deeply involved" of a "long-term project" with Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old took charge of Portman Road in 2021 and guided the team to the Premier League with back-to-back promotions, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were demoted back to the second division and they presently occupy 12th in the Championship.

"I have not had any of those discussions," the English capital native former Irish young player said when questioned about being on the candidate list.

"It's not something I have given any thought to, or where any portion of my focus is this week.

"I have a unique position here at a special club. And we're at a crucial stage of the campaign. Everything outside of that hasn't touched my awareness."

Context and Agreement Details

Reports indicate that the manager would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"Growing up, we all have our affinities," he said when questioned about those. "It's unlikely all people has to publicly and declare what they used to be, but of course it's a massive football club."

The coach agreed to a new four-year contract in last year and was questioned about his reported £5m release clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are things," he responded. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't disclose you regardless!

"I tackle this role like I will remain Town's coach indefinitely. I understand that's not invariably going to be the case, but I'll always give maximum effort as long as I remain in position."

The Welsh Coach's Position

Bellamy represented Celtic on temporary transfer from Newcastle United in the mid-2000s, but the former Wales striker is minded to complete the current global tournament qualification, a stance that would effectively rule out the 46-year-old from assuming the Celtic job.

The Welsh squad are currently in third place in their qualifying group behind leaders the Red Devils and runners-up Macedonia.

Wins over the minnows and North Macedonia in next month would book their position in the final qualifying round, but they are all but assured of reaching that stage, thanks to a productive European competition performance, should they not finish as Group J second place.

Given his current stance, Bellamy, whose contract expires after the European Championship, would not be available until following the play-offs at the minimum.
