Salah Extends Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the group of players after the uproar from his public comments.
The Incident
He was omitted from a vital match following criticising the club and suggesting his connection to the head coach had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
The midfielder also implied that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I understand there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
The team's performance have been impressive in the games following the initial controversy. Jones believes the forward's comments were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and securing victories.”
