Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but can the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

They have have lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
